Some Summer Soothers 2011

Okay Fashionistas,

Are you feeling the heat out there? Then yes it's definitely summer. Can you believe how these weeks have flown by already? Imagine school opens in 2 wks and it's back to the dreadful traffic days as parents clog the roads to get their kids to school. So during these couple weeks, here are a few tips i gained from my beloved Cosmo on how to keep u cool during this hot season so u dont look like a hot mess!

ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP/ WASH

Perspiration, dead cells and bacteria can give ur armpits a not so sweet aroma. So 2 combat any signs of a stench, wash your armpits with an anti-bacterial exfoliator that will not only wash away the bacteria but removes dead skin cells to give you an even cleaner feeling. I recommend Noxema daily exfoliating wash with gently microbeads to cleanse and exfoliate. Don't forget to put on your antiperspirant after which contains aluminum zironium to prevent excessive sweat. I've become a fan of Secret, Dove or Suave Clinical strength deodorant... in different flavours too.

BODY MISTS

To help keep you body cool, Cosmo suggests using a body 'mist' instead of an actual perfume since the mist is water based and keeps you cooler than alcohol based fragrances. I recommend bath and body works or Victoria's Secret body mists.

SILICA-BASED MAKEUP

For my make up wearing girls, runny make up has no chance against the ultimate face primer ingredient- silica. Like your eye primer, which once applied first to your eyes, you eyeshadow will last for hours on end. Same with the face primer. Consult the makeup artist at the cosmetic counter to inquire which make-up is silica based or a face primer that is silica based. Silica smoothes out the service of your face so when your face powder or fpoundation is applied, you not only appear air brushed but it wouldnt run or move during hot temps. Sephora, MAC, Armani and Bobby Brown are good make-up brands that offer silica based products.

LEAVE IN CONDITIONER

Once there's heat, it means something is being dried out or parched. During the summer, try spritzing your hair with a leave in conditioner that keeps hair moist and seal hair cuticles to prevent drying and splitting.

So those are a few things to try to keep you going during the summer. Don't forget to drink lots of water, water-based products like juices or smoothies and water based fruits, especially water melon. Stay tuned for more summer styles hitting on and off the runways. THIS IS FASHINISTA NEWZ!
