1stQtr 2011 DOs & DONT'S!

I must say my dear Fashionistas,

I haven't tackled this subject because I try to avoid embarassing people or pass judgement on their choice of clothing. However.......there are some THINGS I continuously see and I really need to address them; maybe they would get the hint and improve. Now whether it is because of the economy or your own budget there are some things you just DONT think are fashionably acceptable. Hopefully none of my Fashionistas or their friends take offense but when you call yourself a Fashionista, you gotta streamline your outfit like a true Fashionista and NOT A WANNA BE. Check out the following info.

1.WEARING A TRADITIONAL BRA WITH A TUBE OR RACER BACK TOP:

There is nothing more UNATTRACTIVE than when a girl wears a traditional bra ( meaning the straps can't be removed or aren't interchangeable to suit the type of outfit) with a 1 shoulder, tube or racer back outfit. The fact that the material is cut in a certain way is to expose certain parts of the body and is highly distracting when you have a black or coloured bra strap sticking out like a sore thumb. When you wear a racer back it's to get a glimpse of the softness of your back/ when you wear a 1-shoulder or tube, it's to show off your neck, shoulders and collarbones. Imagine you are out at a fancy LBD (little black dress) party, sporting a fabulous empire-waist tube dress and out shows white or coloured straps across your shoulders..if that's the case:

DO- wear a jacket or bolero

DO- cover shoulders with a scarf

Or better yet invest a STRAPLESS bra, MULTI-WAY bra or a RACERBACK bra. You can also buy those clippy-thingies that would criss cross your bra for you. SO PLEASE, avoid such hideous trends.

2. SAGGING BOOBS AKA WEARING NO BRA!

Nothing says GAG & PUKE than when you see a very chic (chique) deep v-neck or low neck outfit and to compliment it, is a pair of sagging boobs..TALK ABOUT OUTFIT-KILL! Girls, we all know that gravity takes a toll on our set of twins so unless you belong to a NUDIST COLONY of some sort..PLEASE BE KIND 2 URSELF AND OUR EYES! You may say, our eyes should not be looking down there but it's like a dude walking into a party with a tuxedo shirt and tie and no pants..uhh yea..you would look cuz it's quite noticeable. So a couple choices:

1st DO- get fitted for a proper bra

DO- wear a bra that offers flexibility with the straps to accommodate the style of outfit

DO- opt in for a bustier style or built in bra item which gives you the choice to go braless but yet gives you coverage and support.

So a feminist may say i'm not embracing my body and burning the bra..and I would retaliate with- UNLESS I WAS BORN IN SOME TRIBAL VILLAGE WHERE SWINGING SAGGING BOOBS ARE ATTRACTIVE then I can embrace my body in other chic ways. PLEASE SPARE ME THE BACKLASH.

3. WEARING A WHITE UNDIES UNDER A WHITE SHIRT, DRESS OR WHATEVER:

Listen closely or watch closely as the case may be. NO-ONE and I mean NO-one SHOULD EVER, EVER wear white underwear under white clothing. Unless u r in ur own haus..please..passerbys mayn't be fascinated with such a show. Unless you want to show off ur boobs or your type of underwear ( which a classy person would never initatiate such a thought) do not entertain that idea. You may practice such at Hugh Heffner's mansion but in all reality IT IS THE MOST UNSIGHTLY view other than #1 n 2. Therefore:

DO- Invest in NUDE underwear if you must wear all white. In that way, your outfit is appreciated

DO- wear a coloured bra to be a little fun or even a regular black bra but still keep the nude panty

Ofcourse I have more but let me not release my vengence on this gorgeous GOOD FRIDAY. So until the next Dos n Dont's, THIS IS FASHIONISTA NEWZ!

Spring Forecast for Curvy girls 2011

My Sassy curvy Fashionistas!

I push forth an entry for the churvy chics as recommended from a high school friend....yes yes i haven't forgotten about you all so take a quick glance of what you can flaunt for Spring.

FLARE LEG PANTS/JEANS- pear shaped girls fit best with flare or wide leg pants because it enhances the curves instead of drawing attention to it as with skinny jeans. So a wideleg romper would be a great items to bloom with this Spring. DO wear with tunics. DONT wear with elastic waist tops or tight fiting tops...you do not want to look like the Michelin tire mascot!

FULL SKIRTS- it's suggested that full skirts whether mini or medium length be worn. Bright patterns assist with drawing attention to your legs or the pattern rather than the shape of your hips. DO wear with shirts or tops that fit at the boobs and flareout around the waist or hips. DO NOT tuck in tops- this is to avoid drawing attention to mid section.

MAXI DRESS- Best for thick chics because it fits firm at the bust area and then flows out masking the other parts you may wish to hide. Again bright colours with prints assist in drawing attention to the flow of the dress. DO use in styles avalable such as halter, square neck or round neck but DO NOT cinch a belt at your waist or near your boobs...this will draw eyes to uneven sections, this is one time a belt is not needed.

DO-Make sure the prints you buy on clothing are Vertical which elongates your body. DONT wear horizontal which makes you appear wider than usual.

DO- use gem coloured clothing if you are doing one colour items. If you do wear a bright colour, try them with flowery prints...trust the colour and not the body outline would be best seen.

DONT- wear jersey material or spandex which hugs to ever inch of your body

Most stores cater specifically to larger or plus sizes like Lane Bryant or Ashley Stewart but Forever 21, Macys and JC Pennys and many other online stores also joined the band wagon....so you can have fun shopping for sizes that don't fit sticks (lmbo). THIS IS FASHIONISTA NEWZ...Curvy Style!

What April Showers just rained in 2011

Fashionistas!

Here are some quick picks to flaunt this flowery season. We all know that Spring means a burst of fresh blooms which means prints are full of flowers or full of bright colours. Either way, I know you all have some items in your closet you can re-bring for Spring 2011.

BRALETTE- which DOES NOT mean take your bra and wear as is. This fashion statement has adapted from the 50's and 60's retro swim suit bikini top which not only involved cups but extra cloth at the bottom that went as far as mid ribs. Now fashion has taken this swim wear idea and placed it on the runways as a type clothing that can be worn best with high waist shorts or pants!

BUSTIER DRESS- bright colours in this design help small-boob girls look exceptional fabulous since the cups accentuates the boobs but draws more attention to the colour and shape rather than the smallness of the boobs.

CHUNKY PEEP-TOE PLATFORMS- Yes it may be rainy but with chunky platforms, you can jump around in puddles without getting your fet wet. These pieces shows off your shoes better than a maxi dress or long pants...either the bustier dress, mini skirt or sailor shorts.

EYELET MINISKIRTS- eyelet is a flowery print which is great to set the spring mood off. It will give a girly and flirty look to any outfit, especially a skirt

SAILOR SHORTS- basicaly they are high waisted shorts but the buttons to the front give the appearance of sailor styled clothing.

These are fab ideas to either try or re-wear. As always have fun, experiement and enjoy. This is FASHIONISTA NEWZ!
