HAT ATTACK- summer 2011

My Fabulous Fashionista Followers,

This summer heat calls for protection. Yes we are thankful that it isn't cold but speaking for Florida, 2011 has brought sky-high temps, I didn't realize can make u so sweaty, extra thirsty, frizzy n dry.

So 1 way to protect ourselves from the stinging sun-rays....get a HAT! But not just any hat....be a little fancy schmancy with a FEDORA! A couple blogs back, I mentioned the crochet hat; yes that's in 4 the seaon of course but another Fashionable trend is the Fedora. It doesn't cost that much and it goes with just about anything.

The one I have on in the pic above, I bought from charlotte russe and not only does it shades the sun, it hides a frizz hair-day. If you have a plain coloured hat, you may want to add variety to it by adding a coloured scarf, ribbon or flower. So invest in one if it is your style. THIS IS FASHIONISTA NEWZ!

Swim Swimmer- who got the keys 2 a Bimmer?

Now a Bimmer will look quite swanky with these 2011 Swim styles....but...it's just a play on words from a popular dancehall song by Beenie Man to introduce 2011 Swim styles.

I must admit that these reports were out since April but I held out until I knew most areas were finally experiencing summer (except for South Africa and other sub-equator countries as it is now winter in their region). So here's a quick review with what you can either pull out from your drawers or make an effort to add to your wardrobe.

BRIGHT N BOLD

Whether it's a bikini, monokini or tankini, all the primary colours are taken a shade brighter for added summer pleasure.

TIP: These colours are best on slim figures with small boobs as it highlights and doesn't call attention to small bustlines.

FLIRTY FRILLS

Any girl remembers the frilly underwear you wore when you were a toddler? Well some designers have taken it to an adult-girl level of style. These are very fun and girly, especially for the summer break.

TIP: This style is great on any body type. For Curvy Girls, it masks any extra you may wish to hide around the boob and thigh areas. Small-bodied chics, frills gives the appearance of fuller boobs when worn in a triangular-bikini style.

PLAYFUL PRINTS

Nautical strips, flowers, polka-dots, splashes. You name the print and summer welcomes it.

TIP: Prints are great for all shapes and sizes. For Curvy Girls- prints allow you to wear any style of swimsuit without being conscious of your body as the print draws attention to itself.

MIX & MATCH

I've done this before to save costs on buying a whole swimsuit. You chose a varied-coloured bottom and then buy different tops to match the individual colour on the bottom. Or you can do it vice versa. But this is a fun way to spend less on a swim suit wardrobe. I can attest to the fact I have lots of bikini tops and fewer bottoms (see last ride-side picture above).

TIP:

DON'T MIX 2 DIFFERENT PRINTS THAT ARE NOT IN THE SAME COLOUR RANGE. If you have to, try mixing using the same background colour or format of shapes such as STRIPS & PLAID, FLOWERS & POLKA DOTS OR CIRCULAR DESIGNS....HOWEVER, u do not want to look like a melted box of crayons!

So these beachy styles are calling your name..which one will you surrender to? Check out a couple sites below to view or invest in some of the ideas for 2011. Better yet, most are ON SALE! So until next blog, have fun, Happy 4th to my American friends and as always, be creative. This is FASHIONISTA NEWZ!
