Summer Flings 2018

Hello Fashionistas!

On the last day of July, I'll officially say welcome to August! How's your summer so far dolls? Hope it's fashionably great.

So a few things I saw this season that I'm calling flings because like the actual term, these items aren't lasting long but while they're here...why not indulge and enjoy!!!!!

NETTED BAGS
Soooo I know I've seen netted clothes and shoes aka mesh but seeing these net bags just somehow reminds me of the islands seeing fish nets draped over fishing boats. It's a great accent this summer to your outfits.

PASTEL ROMPERS & JUMPSUITS

It's summer and light colours just add a certain pizzaz to your life. So Cosmo mag reported that rompers and jumpsuits in baby blue, mint, lavender are just a hot item!

Hope you all had a great Father's day (as I missed June's posting) and 4th of July celebrations. This month, not gonna waste anymore time but to tell you, it's either time to update your swimsuit stash or  see which style can be recycled. Vlada Haggerty, an Instagram makeup artist in collab with Smashbox launched and awesome line called the petal metal collection. This set is a rich metallic rose or rose gold colour that includes...

Waw! What a rose gold series of products and they are the most sort after cosmetics. Ofcourse 3 of these items will cost you over $100US, so it'll be best to choose your best used item and splurge on it. For instance if your a lip girl then try either the liquid or matte formulas; If you love to glow then maybe the shimmer drops, shimmer spray or highlighter might be your holy grail.

COVER FX GLITTER DROPS

Sequins are already in for Spring. So how else can you wear sequins on your face? Well glitter is like the smaller form of sequins and for those of you obsessed with glitter, Cover FX created customized glitter drops which can be used...well however you want to. It's available in 3 shades.

URBAN DECAY BEACHED

Is there a break when creative geniuses stop creating fabulous invigorating palettes that call your soul? Urban Decay didn't wait to launch their 1st summer collection palette called Beach where the 8 colours really give you that beach, summer, sun, sea, sand type of vibe. I can hear Sheryl Crow's song being played while applying these colours and because I'm a sucker for bright hues, this palette really calls to all the colour freaks!

Quick & Thoughtful Beauty Gifts for Mom- 2018

Hi there Fashionistas!

So in a few days will be mother's day and if you are fortunate to have a mother or mother figure in your life, it's another day to honor her, like a 2nd Christmas. Parents play a very important role from the beginning to the end of our lives and everyday is a day to cherish them.

We know every mother's day magazines, flyers and ads show the usual gifts for mom...perfumes, jewelry, clothes etc. You can still get those but you want to be a little in tune to your mom's likes and dislikes.

Don't just buy a new perfume because it's new. Find out which scents she loves. For instance she may love fruity smells or woodsy smells because she loves the outdoors. Narrow it down so she'll notice how thoughtful you were with choosing.

In Living Spring Colours- Spring 2018

Hello Fashionistas!

There're more Spring colours to add to your Spring wardrobe. We tackled Icy blues before but now welcome a burst of hues with teal, green, purple, lilac and  vibrant tomato red.

These colours can be mixed together...teal and red, teal and green, green and purple, green and red or just by themselves with basic whites or rose.You can find these colours in store or on your favorite sites like go jane, fashion nova, asos, agaci etc.

Bring out your Colours because Spring is hurrrr!

Dots and Checks- Spring 2018

Spring is here but I don't know if the weather got the memo for some places who are still getting snow and winter-like weather. Hmmmm! Global Warming I guess.

So regardless of the weather, act like you're enjoying the change of season. Spring is about new life, bright colours and fresh beginnings and these 2 styles are back within a year to be apart of the season's styles- The polka dot and the checkered Gingham print.

Polka dot
The origin is still not known as many fashion gurus derive many theories of its creation but what is known is that it came out in fashion as early as the 1800s! Now these dots are seen everywhere on anything from clothing to shoes, accessories etc and come in various sizes.

Gingham
Originally shipped to England from India in a stripped print in the 17th century, when England started manufacturing the print itself it became the weaving of 2 different coloured threads in a checkered pattern. Like the polka dot, gingham also comes in varied squares.

These styles surfaced not too long ago last year and for some of you, you may not have to go futher than your closet or drawers to rep one of these styles for Spring.
