I wanted to blog about this instead of just posting pictures. Even though pictures are worth a 1000 words, I want you all to experience my words.
So last Friday (1-30-15) A. Nichelle and Co. was booked to do my cousin's Sweet 16 Birthday Party. I had my cousin and her 2 friends' makeup to do. Granted this was right after work (my regular job), I didn't have much time so I had to get myself dressed (makeup, hair and clothes), document with pix ofcourse, pack up my Glamcor Light kit and makeup case and hit the highway.
I got there a little after scheduled time of 6:45pm but I went straight into setting up the light and laying out makeup. I had 1hr and 15 mins to make magic. Swift and precise was my focus.
I already knew the theme was WINTER WONDERLAND (very apprioate with the cold weather we've been having in S. Florida) and knew her 2 friends are also back up dancers for her, as the 3 of them put together a dance routine for the party. I thought ice..snowflakes..hmm the best representation of that will be glitter...and glitter is always a girl's best friend. Plus, I made sure the colours age appropriate ofcourse....I mean they are 16..almost adults!
Once I was done with them, I had 15 mins to do the main girl. Couldn't mess up her white dress so I made sure she was covered. I variated from the silver and white glitter and used light blue glitter, turquoise inner tear duct and pink bubble gum lips!
I didn't have time for before pix but these girls loved it. They took so many selfies and snap chat vids. Even while doing their makeup, I had such a fun time. We laughed soooo much. I felt like I was at a sleep over.
I forgot what 16 was about..NO CARES IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! I wanna be 16 again.
At the end of it all, my cousin enjoyed every moment, couldn't stop talking about her makeup and I realized that kinda attracted a couple guys her way....whom I'm keeping a keen eye on lol.
I was tired!!! It was a great night but on the way home I thought...wait..I can't be 16 again because at 16 I was nowhere interested in style or makeup...I've come to far just to relive a couple years of laughter and no cares. I just have to enjoy my moment now with a partial 16 year old aspect.
