2015 is coming to an end and even though it is hard to say good bye, I'm actually excited for 2016. Why is it a new year brings new life and a new perspective on anything you may experience? It's simple, NEW THINGS raise your endorphins or happy hormones and you enter a stage of Euphoria!

I cannot believe the frabjuous day (Alice in Wonderland phrase) is almost upon us! Where oh where did the time go? Just the other day we rang in the new year of 2015, then there was summer, then Thanksgiving and now...Christmas!!!
It's been a busy year for me and maybe for you to. There may not have been time to go shop at various stores so here are a couple Gift giving tips!
SHOP ONLINE:
In the comfort of your home, without the hustle and bustle, you have free range to shop and ship. This is the best time to shop online as there are a lot of deals: free shipping on certain amounts, % off, $$ off, combined coupons...take advantage while you can and once you receive your items, now take the time to wrap or bag it in pretty gift paper or gift bags.
GIFT CARDS:
I've ran into this lately. I'm not sure what to get the person and I don't want to stuff cash in an envelope so rather than not give, I'll get a gift card and then the person can get what they may desire. I don't think it's thoughtless...I think it's still thoughtful and convenient. Plus, depending on the card, they can reload it (grocery card, Starbucks) without having to carry cash around and...you can det a discount for buying many gift cards at once. Place it in a nicely decorated gift card box or bag and VOILA! A pretty neat present!
SERVICES:
Do you own a business or have a certain skill? Why not offer a service as a way of gifting. For example, I have an Image Consulting business and I've offered styling and make up services as a gift to loyal customers. Are you good with computers or gardening? Offer to assist a neighbour, friend or family member with something they may have a need for and do it not for payment or to receive anything in return but as a kind gift gesture.
Even better...volunteer your time!
COSMETICS:
Ok...for that trendy, fashionable girl, you can't go wrong with cosmetics. It doesn't matter what it may be, having more than one brow pomade, eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow palettes just adds to collection of possibilities when it comes to makeup and makeup looks.
So this gift idea list is not the usual...perfume gift, socks gift, crock pot gift..it's thinking outside the box. Giving a gift is not a must but it is a generous way to show your appreciation, love and kindness to someone.

It is a true saying that styles always come back in season either just as or an updated version. As the Fall Season has begun, here a some trends that has returned to the stores ( and some are still in my closet!):
THE MINI
This style skirt takes on an a-line cut and can be worn with crop tops, shirts and blouses or thigh high socks.
THE BELL SLEEVE
This is so 60's and 70s and now it's so 2015. These sleeves can be found on blouses and dresses and can be with chunky heels, stilettos, booties and boots.
THE CULOTTES
These are the 3/4 pants of bell bottoms and just another style to add to your bottoms. It can be worn with cropped tops or blouses and chunky heels or booties.

Waw where has the time flown? I must tell you...owning a business is somewhat like having a child. Lots of planning goes into it and lots of responsibilities comes with it. Here's a recap of the birth of A. NICHELLE and CO.
JUST A THOUGHT...
I always thought of owning a business but fear kept me back from actually trying. I'm not super experienced with owning a business and I dont have the help. I wonder if I can?? Just like planning to have a child, most times it's usually with a spouse or partner and there maybe some experience involved. In my case, I was neither. I guess if I did start my own company, it'll be by myself. So in 2012, I put pen to paper to chart out what company, why, when and how.
CONCEPTION...
Ok so I don't have a partner, I'm doing this by myself, I have the idea and it's time to start. So the beginning stages, I knew I love make-up, fashion and writing. I'm not interested in cosmetology school but I love consulting! Aha! Image Consulting....that's it. Now I need a name! I know it's about Image Consulting Services but I need a name. Just like trying to find a name for your unborn child...it took me a while before I created A. NICHELLE and CO. It's not just A. Nichelle but I added "and Co." because I knew at some point, I'm not working alone.
PREPARING...
In the months before your child is born, there are certain things you do prior to its birth. I had to do the same. In 2013, I began the initial stages of the logo. It had to be exactly how I envisioned it. Started looking for schools and Institutes that will offer Certified makeup classes and Image Consulting courses. Meanwhile started building my makeup kit as part of Image Consulting is offering makeup services. Whew! Just like a baby, a business is expensive.
By 2014, the logo was done, I graduated as a CIC (Certified Image Consultant), completed several makeup courses with certifications, registered the business with the State, created business cards and marketing pieces, secured a website name and registered the hosting domain. Oh and social media! I gotta be in the know...so I already had Facebook and a blog but Instagram and Twitter were next.
THE SHOWER...
I must say I'm super grateful and blessed to receive services to help build A. NICHELLE and Co. I had help to construct the layout of the website by a graphic designer, photoshoots by a photographer and casting my friends as models for the website and to top it off...An intro video.
All lovely gifts in preparation to launch. It was long days and long nights, being a bit confused, tired and nervous at times but yet...PATIENT! Then before I knew it...1 kick, 2 kick, 3 kick...Puuusshhhh!
THE BIRTH...
On September 4, 2014, A. NICHELLE and CO went live!
Lots of mixed emotions. All the small steps I was taking, didn't realize they culminated into this.
Ofcourse this sounds easy but in real time it wasn't. It changed my life...just like a child truly changes your life. It made me aware that I CAN DO ANYTHING and truly ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
CRAWLING and OHH SHE'S WALKING..SHE'S A RUNNER!
Having no clue on how to truly run and operate a business, like a new parent with a newborn, I am taking 1 day at a time and enjoying the process. Everything did not happen overnight.
On the makeup side, I've been fortunate with some awesome opportunities...
