Candy coloured, animal prints n more...

Girls, my dear fashion magazine, Cosmo, has foretold that a little bit of colour for the winter months actually spruces things up. So dress up dark clothing ideas with candy-coloured flats, jeans, bags, dresses or shades. Or add colour to your face with sugary shades of pink, teal, yellow and amethyst or purple. Incase you are unclear, candy coloured means bright but not Neon-bright.
How wild are you? Now wear your animal print in not only various colours but either during the day or night...who would have thought that zebra prints would have sparked a wildfire in Hollywood but it sure has so snag a couple pieces to mix and make such as a dress, jeans, shoe, scarf or belt. However, IT IS ADVISED NOT TO DRESS IN ANIMAL PRINT HEAD 2 TOE..No one called for a safari show on display!
You not only have to brigthen up the cold days with candy but sparkle the night with skirts, clutches, tops in shiny prints either in sequence or glittered material. Post-thanxgiv'n wishes & what's new!

My fellow fashionistas, I hope you all had a great thanxgiving. I hope no one is complaining of the extra pounds they may have gained eating pumpkin pie with whipcream or apple pie with caramel sauce. To me thanxgiving is a time to reflect on all the great things God has blessed you with and will continue to bless you with. Yes yes it originated with the pilgrims but remember who the pilgrims were giving thanks to. However, some people take this holiday to shop til they drop than to spend with loved ones and in all honesty it takes away from the tradition of family time into the recurrence of shopping time. I know you are getting great deals but at the end of the day, I think it will be nice to know that family presence is better than actual presents.

As this thanxgiving rolls by, the other grand thing than getting the christmas decor together is the Victora Secret Fashion Show that will air Tuesday December 1st @ 10pm on CBS. 3 model mommies appear in the usual line-up of VS models and you can't even tell they had kids: Heidi Klum, Allesandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima...yes my dear fashionistas, Allesandra & Adriana are moms and their chiselled body shows no evidence of being preggos. Also performing on the show is Black Eye Peas.

Since America's Next Top Model season 13 is over, this is the next best thing to tune into! Keep the fashion alive! This is Fashionista Newz!

America's Next Petite Model is....NICOLE!

This is the 1st time that America's Next Top Model has brought back potential models that were sent home. Nicole & Laura had to stomp to death during their first ever fashion show and Sundai, Erin, Jennifer and Brittany re-appeared with them as well as Teyona, cycle 12's winner. These 2 girls have come so far: Nicole came in as the awkward, social-phobia girl who couldn't even have a full conversation with out sounding weird or as if she's brain dead; Laura, the sweet country girl who was always so bubbly but battled dyslexia, a learning disorder that switches the letters or have them appear wavy, upside down or even blurry. But during their finale, they both performed well...Nicole had strong pictures from since the beginning and you would swear she modeled before; Laura had her ups and downs in pictures but her final walk during the runway show was amazing. Either way both girls will get booked...trust me...see the updates during cycle 14. So after all of this, America's Next Petite Model is....Nicole! Tyra said that she now has a signature pose and walk that makes her a model! But Laura girl..you did well. Congrats 2 u both! This is Fashionista Newz!

2 gets cut on ANTM! Who r they????

Girls after all the fun and games, Tyra decided to send 2 home instead of 1. The 4 girls are still in Hawaii but after the challenge of posing as the Hawaiian volcano goddess, Erin and Jennifer were sent back to their respective states. Erin, even though has competitive caniving ways, will get booked because she does have Couture features needed in European runways. Jennifer, the 2nd Asian girls to be in this competition and make it to the top 4 is a great accomplishment..good luck in your endeavors.

Next week, Nicole and Laura face off in a Hawaiian fashion show and I strongly believe..NICOLE IS AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL! This is Fashionista Newz!

Bye-bye Brittany & Sad send off for Sundai!

These two weeks have been rather difficult as last week they had 2 portray 'hapas' which is Hawaiian for half or bi-racial and then this week the girls had to model under water by holding their breath. But last week, Brittany was not performing as she should be for some1 in the top 6 and her lack of anything sent her home to Livermore, CA.

This week, my simple Sundai let her asthma and other insecurities get to her and was sent home after not putting forth a good film for the judges to adore. But as Tyra said, Sundai's story is a testimony for others who have been through the foster care system and she'll be a role model to them. She can be booked after her great effort on the show but she also needs to the confidence to pursue modelling if she really wants it!

4 girls remain..including bratty Erin who might be in the top two with Nicole...the half dead, pale white string bean from CO. Nicole might be awkward but her bone structure and tiny body is one that will be casted and booked by Alloy or Seventeen mag or for the runways in Milan, Spain etc! Good luck final 4. Rae gets the cut on ANTM

Such a sweet and angelic person, Ms. Rae got the axe and was sent a-pack'n. I thought it would have been Erin who is not only caniving but she did horribly on the Cover Girl commercial. Rae did well but the judges didn't believe that she has the will to multi-task, meaning she can take great photos but can she speak or do television ads or shows. I have no complaints on her- her physique is very in tune for a model and her facial features are those that can be mimicked from any Neiman Marcus, Vogue or high end photo shoots. We must also remember she has a daughter who will be in need of mummy. Modeling is defintely a job and it is hard to raise kids and make that the forefront of your life. But Rae, keep striving and I'm sure, with your pure and innocent aura, you'll be booked. Good luck to the other girls! This is Fashionista Newz!

NEWZ FLASH..time 2 Green & Glitterize ur nails 4 Fall 09

Newz just in Girls....when you thought licorice & midnight blue were the darkest of darks for nails...what about dark forest, army or jade green? Ofcourse while flipping thru my fav fashion mag, the November issue of Cosmo , it revealed that DARK GREEN is another popular colour for this fall/winter season 2009. OPI, Sally Hansen, Zoya, China Glaze, Essie etc are selling out of this colour and I'm so gonna try it...the jade looks amazing!

Also, blinged out paws are also in, so don't be afraid to have mini disco ball nails for this fall 09. Remember a fashionista is never afraid to try the new or follow the rules to a tee...she colours outside the lines and makes her own design. Dare to be different! This is Fashionista Newz!

Kara get's the Kut on ANTM!

Girls, the competition is getting stiffer and Tyra isn't playing around. I realize that this season, potential models are told a couple times what they need 2 work on and if they can't deliver then they get the cut. This occurred with Kara; such a sweet girl who is in this to win but as Tyra said, she's not aware of her surroundings...she looks like a model (the noun) but can she model (the verb). But even thought Kara got the Kut, she's 19 and with her body and great facial bone structure, she'll get booked. Look back at past contestants who didn't win or even make top 2 or 3 and they are working models in NY, CA, Milan, Paris etc. So Kara, I say Kut the Krying, pick up yourself and start interviewing with some go-see...somebody will hire you! Asta la vista, Ashley! & Jabba Wockeez on ANTM!

Girls! What a fun filled episode this was. The girls did their challenged photoshoot in Las Vegas with Cirque-de-Soleil characters. But I think the best was when they had to do emotions with only their bodies and their faces hidden...and who else can perform with masked faces other than Season 1 ABDC (America's Best Dance Crew) JABBA WOCKEEZ!!!!!!!!!!! As usual these boys were on point. It's amazing how they took the whole 'phantom of the opera' them and used their bodies as main point of focus than their faces...IN-CREY-DE-BLAY! they are awesome. But back to Ms. Ashley...who made it known she's a dancer and yet like her chatter-box lame friend Lulu..brought nothing after nothing in each frame, shot and challenge. Like seriously??? You have a chance to show off some skills in front the camera and you just lay low like a lame duck...OH MY GOODNESS! Tyra even said she was chosen from her talk show audience to take part in ANTM and she just faded away like water on a hot day! Little did she realized she had 3 things going for her....1-she was chosen by Tyra, 2-she's a dancer & 3- she gets tips every week on what to work on more, whether it's smizing or elongating your neck, arms, legs etc; yet she had 1 thing against her- Her inability to interpret and work with her environment. ANTM models are groomed and prepared to be like chameleons...you have to change according to your current location...what may have worked last week, mayn't this week or maybe more of last week and something new this week. it's about flexibility and Ashley is 1 dancer that obviously didn't comprehend that.

Bye Bianca...

It's so hard to say Good-Bi...as in bye Bianca dearest. Bianca came in this competition with the fierceness to win ANTM, But that hardness not only was on her exterior but photo after photo it was expressed in her eyes. For those of you who do not watch the show, Bianca explained that she was in an abusive relationship and she was strong to leave that trial and make it her testimony for any other girl that is going through such a situation. One way she shed that pain was to shed her hair and went all Bald and Beautiful; the hair she left behind was the beginning of her new found confidence and the discovery of her true inner beauty. But maybe, it wasn't enough time for her to find her true self and being on ANTM only forced her to keep her guard up seeing that it's a competition with a series of challenges to overcome. But Bianca, if you ever read this I commend for coming to ANTM, walking away from abuse and saying yes to life. If modelling isn't for you, you have a purpose...and within that purpose is a testimony. Your strength may show too much on your body or on your face but that strength is what kept you alive and hopefully you can share this with other victimized girls.

Later for Lame LuLu

Lulu, the bold lesbian who tatooed her girlfriend's name across her left collar bone seemed as 1 of the girls with great potential. She photographs well but talking about the other girls took up most of her time rather than working on certain poses and skills learned from previous challenges. But...With all the mouth Lulu had, she couldn't perform and looked as lame as a loaf of bread...it's as if she didn't understand the assignment. The job, as short models, is to elongate yourself using props, clothes, hairstyle and shoes to appear 5'9 and above. Most of the girls got the idea by stretching their necks, legs, arms and feet either on or around the set props. But Miss Lulu just laid across the jungle gym like a piece of clothing laying out to dryin the hot sun. She looked lethargic, no smizing or emotions in her eyes and just plain limp. A rocks would have given better moves that what she did.

Ofcourse Jay wasn't not happy from the beginning with her performance and her mediocre ending gave her that 1 way ticket to HOME. Lulu, make sure your game is as good or better than your talks cuz obviously you couldn't talk your way out this 1..tsk tsk. The competition still goes strong as the other girls battle for the next ANTM! This is Fashionista Newz!
